Stop what you are doing now and put Hartford House on your bucket list.
It’s hard for me to even fully express my feelings towards this magical place in the Midlands. From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty, bubbly and wonderful reception. Once seeing our suites, we headed to the Tijnhuis for lunch, what a beautiful journey to get there. Our meals were delightful! We loved getting to see the meals prepared in the kitchen using the freshest ingredients and local produce.
We got to explore that afternoon and enjoyed a late afternoon picnic on the sprawling lawns, we were gifted with treats from Food Lovers Market and the most wonderful bubbly from Steenberg Farm – it was a great way to relax and take in the fantastic weather we were blessed with.
That evening we got our glam on as we knew we would be in for a treat. A 6 course dinner was just what we needed. Art on a plate…. A lovely touch was the hot water bottles on our chairs and the blankets to keep us cozy throughout our culinary experience. As the evening drew to a close we had a wonderful turndown in our rooms with our fire lit and the most delightful fudge on our beds, our rooms made neat, so all we needed to do was shower and sleep. When our heads hit the pillows it was like melting into a marshmallow we never knew we needed! The rooms feature underfloor heating which means you are sure to feel snug in the cold of the night.
On our last day I had one of the BEST breakfasts I have ever had! Which you will have to wait…. to see some photos. The rest of the morning I explored the manicured gardens. Would of loved to have spent more time at Hartford House. Start planning your romantic weekend, anniversary, girls weekend or major celebration now.
