“Having spent a weekend at Hartford House a few years ago, I knew it would be an ideal wedding destination. With its luscious lawns, glorious flower gardens and paddocks of prized thoroughbreds, it can easily compete with anything the Cape Winelands has to offer. Our “big” wedding plans were sadly cancelled due to Covid19 and so we decided to contact Hartford to see if they could accommodate us for a more intimate ceremony.” — Moira – December 2020
The general manager, Maretha Langenhoven, was very obliging and helped us every step of the way. We decided to spend two nights there prior to our wedding day in order to make sure we were fully relaxed on the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the fine dining and after having the four course the first night, couldn’t resist the six course the following evening. Each course had a multitude of unique flavours that complemented each other to perfection. What a treat for our taste buds.
We also enjoyed an “in-room” massage, that proved ideal for getting rid of any pre-wedding tension. What impressed us the most though, was the level of industry that had gone into refurbishing the Manor House and surrounds to their former selves. From the beautifully restored Persian rugs to the carefully chosen pieces of décor, each room is a new experience. The Bridal Suite was particularly elegant and graceful, creating the perfect fairytale atmosphere.
Thank you to Maretha and everyone at Hartford House who contributed to such a perfect Wedding Day.”
