Words Just Don’t Suffice!

It’s the small things that count at Hartford House…

“We loved our visit at Hartford House. We stayed in one of the four houses by the lake which is perfect for those desiring a lot of privacy. There also are rooms that are a part of the main house, four other bungalows near the pool and gardens and four rooms that were once a stable. I think they are all very nice and would stay in any of them. ”

Breakfast was ordered from a menu and was excellent. I had the English breakfast that included chakalaka which is a South African relish which is yummy with eggs of any sort.

Dinner was either a la carte or a tasting menu. Hartford House is known for its food and deservingly so.

If you like horses, thoroughbreds in particular, this will be your nirvana. Summerhill Stud Farm is adjacent to the property and owned by the same family.

Words just don’t suffice.

The staff were accommodating and very pleasant. Duncan Bruce the general manager has a great team.  We look forward to returning!
