Set in the KZN Midlands, this picturesque hotel is definitely one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited (in or out of South Africa).

Hartford House is situated on the respected Summerhill Stud farm with magical walks and drives to delight your soul. Horses are scattered about, grazing and frolicking (if you’re lucky, you’ll be treated to a well-spirited race across the lush fields).

Visiting any one of the lakes on the farm is a sure recipe for tranquility, and the gardens in and around the main house are simply enchanting!

The gourmet breakfast was on another level of deliciousness and we can’t wait to go back and taste their other menus (Halaal is catered on request).

Leapday babies were gifted a free stay this leapday and we ended up with a whole suite to ourselves. We were treated with such warmth and care, ensuring this leapyear birthday was the most memorable one yet.
