Rather than using store bought yeast, we create our own special bread starter and it has been with Hartford House for almost 16 months. We depend heavily on it to give our bread its unique flavour.
We offer a 50% brown bread sourdough accompanied by a seeded lavash which is essentially an unleavened bread to give our guests a contrast in texture.
Our butter is churned at a local cheesery called Gourmet Greek and from the by-product of this process ricotta is made.
In the photo above, we served a whipped black garlic butter and a coriander ricotta with our breads.
