Dear All,

For all, thankfully the weather was perfect too, but the calm and very helpful manner your staff attended to us was excellent, and made the weekend, flow so easily for all guests. Your cuisine and the way it was presented was – as you must realise – TOP CLASS and oohed and aahed about by all. From the beginning, upon arriving on Friday afternoon, till our departure, sadly before lunch on Sunday, was an out of this world experience.

My hubby and I had spent a wonderful weekend at Hartford House about 12 years earlier, but not in winter months, and still found it fairly cold, but with being 10 years younger had helped, plus in those days we did a lot of camping even at the Berg in winter. I’m sure you didn’t have the wonderful underfloor heating at that stage, nor perhaps the air-conditioning heating, as I seem to remember feeling rather cold, though know that Mooi River area is very cold, but this stay, was so warm and cosy.

We were lucky enough to do a tour of the stables at the time too – that was one of our highlights then. Loved the addition of your Japanese Garden and Tea House, and the Wedding Service in your Rose Garden and the sunshine, made it really special. A big thank you to the Chef and to those attending to the eats – I so appreciated being able to list the many items of food which I can’t eat due to health problems. A special too, was to be served at the table, and not have to stand in a queue, to try to make a choice as to what I can and can’t eat. Not that I am a drinker, but which I particularly noticed, that no bottles of wine, nor any others, were left on the tables for folks to continually stretch over to pass around, thus no interruptions to conversations. The service of your staff is highly praised.

Also I found the taking of photographs at the Reception was unique and well done, instead of folks trying to stretch together at tables as groups, which made it so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Gosh, just realised it is Durban July Day – what a coincidence – and no doubt lots of excitement for you all too. Hope your highly bred and trained horses do very well to-day and do justice to their near to home, Hartford House too.

Diana and Trevor, really felt that they were treated like a King and Queen too. Special too, to just have wedding guests at the wedding venue and we all seemed to mix so easily, though not all knew one another from before, but we realised we were all there to celebrate the wedding, thus easy to get to know one another.

Praises for your prized venue, will be spread far and wide – it is unique and so special. With Very Best Wishes for your continued success.
